The Church is active in encouraging and organising donations for the Mid Norfolk Food bank,which are collected at the back of the church, and taken to the Fakenham Distribution Centre. The Foodbank team told us that during the pandemic in 2020 the village helped to provide 442 meals in total for those in need. They thanked us not just for our generosity but also for the thoughtfulness expressed in the choice and variety of the donations .This year we collected 100 tins of soup in the winter months, Easter eggs in the spring , and having consulted children for their ideas, a huge array of products to get families through the summer school holidays. All gifts are very welcome but looking forward to the autumn and run up to Christmas we will focus on groups that can easily be forgotten – food products for vegetarians and those suffering from food allergies, and for teenagers, essential toiletries. Gifts are displayed under the font but two large plastic boxes are provided for anything that the odd church mouse might find tempting.
