Essential reports were commissioned to determine the health of the Village Hall. Once the all-clear was given, we fixed leaks and made enquiries for a grant to cover the costs of the renovation work. Funding was kindly provided by the North Norfolk Big Society Fund and we can’t thank them enough! The first job was to replace the blown and foggy windows, complete with new window ledges, followed by wooden cladding to the internal brickwork which can be seen here:
After the cladding was finished it looked like this:
Once complete, local electricians, Kings and Barnham replaced the old radiators with the efficient and silent panel heaters as shown above. The lighting was completely upgraded with dimmable LED units and additional electrical sockets were installed around the hall. Once the extra wiring was hidden in neat trunking, it was time to redecorate and refresh the interior, choosing a modern and light colour scheme.
The grant from the North Norfolk Big Society Fund also covered major improvements to the kitchen and we were able to purchase a new dishwasher, cooker, freezer and fridge. Wi-Fi has also been installed.
We are so grateful for all the help we received during this project. There’s still more to do so if you feel you can lend us a hand, please get in touch.
